The Adler IV was built by Husumer Schiffswerft for service in the North Frisian Wadden Sea. Actually she was deployed on the Hörnum – Amrum – Föhr route. The other ferries Adler III, V, VI, VII and X were built by the same shipyard between 1975 and 1980. They are deployed in the Northern and Baltic Sea.
